Run on the newly reclaimed hills at Bottle Lake, this new cross-country event will be a good test of those hill legs – they are harder than they look, especially if you run up them fast and more than once. This event incorporates race one of the challenge series – a 2 by 2k loop up and over the hills for U/18 and older. It also includes multi-lap relays with either 2 or 4 juniors running between 1 and 2 k each in the Under 16 event or up to 6 adults running between 1 and 6 laps each in the U18 and above event.  For more information on this event click here

Fast and furious – this cross country run under lights was a massive hit last year and we look forward to seeing both kids and adults in attendance this year. This event incorporates race two of the challenge series in either the adult open or eliminator races. Kids can earn their running passport stamp by running in the U16 club classic.  More details (and there are a few) click here

Set in a beautiful lake environment, this is a great course over a range of terrains. While predominately gravel roads there are grassy tracks in places.​

The course has a few undulations, but overall considered to be very fast and runnable for all runners. Road shoes are recommended.​

This year we will continue the new grade we successfully introduced a couple of years ago. Developed to allow Whanau to run together, teams in this grade must have at least 1 adult and 1 child (U16). The rest is flexible.

Hosted by the Christchurch Avon Club and taking advantage of the twists and turns available at Rawhiti Domain, this short course Cross Country Championship event is an opportunity to head out strong and fast, secure in the knowledge the event is shorter than the long course event! Formally held at (the no longer available) Halswell Quarry and featuring the Jane Paterson Cup, this Long course Canterbury Cross Country championship event has, yet again, the added challenge of hurdles to either jump over or run around. Run in conjunction with PAPO (the Peninsula and Plains Orienteering Club), this event will test people’s ability to run fast over a one km cross country loop in their own space to see who comes out the fastest.  Individuals will be set off at prescribed times and there will be live tracking of placings. Held over the upcoming Nationals cross country course in Hagley Park, this is event five of the challenge series with races available for all grades. Full details click here
