2025 Shoe Clinic 5k Series Cancelled

After having been held for more than 40 years, it is with regret that the Port Hills and Christchurch Avon Clubs have made the sad decision to cancel the 2025 5k series. This event was way ahead of its time when it was started way back in the 1980’s by Peter and Glen Watts and their band of merry helpers at the then St Martin’s Club. 

Unfortunately, dwindling numbers, an aging official’s pool and competition from professional event promoters, eight Parkrun’s each Saturday across Canterbury and other running groups offering fresh and interesting packages has forced the clubs to look at a possible refresh of the concept for 2026.
